How To Mount A Roof Top Tent

All rooftop tents come with stainless steel fixings to attach to your roof rails or roof rack. Nuts, bolts, brackets, and even tools with detailed instructions are included. All included fixings are made of high quality 304 grade stainless steel metal. This is to protect them from corrosion/rust and strength.

There are two most common ways to mount a rooftop tent to your car. The first is to drill holes through the roof rack or roof rails and bolt the rooftop tent to it. The second is to use the provided brackets to clamp it to the roof rack or roof rails.

1. Rooftop Tent Attached to Roof Rack
You can see here that we have measured and pre-drilled holes in the roof rack to allow for the rooftop tent to be bolted to the roof rack. Two channels run the width of the rooftop tent base so the rooftop tent can be bolted to it in as many places as needed.

We always say that the rooftop tent needs to be secured in 4 places with the m8 stainless steel bolts that come with the rooftop tent.

Note – Make sure all bolts are tight, but don't over tighten.

2. Mounting the Roof Tent to the Roof Bars
In this example, the roof tent is clamped to the roof rails using the provided stainless steel brackets and M8 nuts and bolts. Distribute the clamping points evenly across both roof rails to achieve 4 spaced fixing points.

NOTE - Make sure all bolts are tight, but do not over tighten.
