May 15, 2023
I have been engaged in the production of car roof tents for more than ten years. From export to domestic sales, I have come into contact with the installation problems of various models. All kinds of questions come to the face of users who have passed, I am a certain car, can I install it? Can this be installed on the roof of the car to sleep? Can it bear weight? Will it crush the roof?
Is there any wind resistance when running? Will it be stolen if left outside?
Today, I would like to share and summarize the things about the installation of the roof tent~
1. What kind of car can be installed?
In principle, the load-bearing capacity of the roof is 4-5 times that of the car itself, which are all tonnage levels. Generally, the weight of the roof tent is about 50KG, and the weight of a family of three is calculated as 250 kg. Under the static load, the load-bearing capacity of the roof is 300 About one kilogram, you don’t need to worry about the problem that sleeping on the roof will crush the roof.
The tent itself bears weight. Taking a tent with a width of 1.4 as an example, the ladder is an aluminum alloy anti-pinch telescopic ladder, which can bear a load of 300 kg. After the tent is opened, half of the weight is on the roof, and half of the weight is supported by the ladder. The person in the picture below It's all right, what are you worried about? ? ?

The roof tent can be installed directly if the following conditions are met (luggage racks pasted with glue cannot be installed)
1) The load-bearing original longitudinal bar that comes with the body,
2) The roof is equipped with roof rails, roof frames or gantry frames, and roll cages
The following is an example diagram of the model installation

The roof tent is a peripheral product developed with the automobile manufacturing industry. With the increase of car ownership in China, self-driving tourism is gradually heating up, and roof tents are one of the optional equipment for outdoor self-driving tours.
