Side Awning Setup and Installation Guide
Our side awnings are very easy to setup and install, scroll down for the setup and installation procedures.

Step 1
Unpacking the Awning
To begin installing the awning, carefully remove the awning from its protective cardboard box. If using a knife to cut through the box, be careful not to cut into the actual awning cover itself when opening it.

Step 2
What does your awning come with?
Once you have removed the awning from the box, unzip the awning cover and unfold the awning. Inside the front aluminum front plate you will find the following:

Wrench (10/13mm)

2 x Awning Brackets

2 x Awning Cleats

4 x Stainless Steel 30mm Bolts

4 x Stainless Steel T-Bolts

4 x Stainless Steel Dome Bolts

4 x Stainless Steel Nylon Nuts

2 x Nails

2 x Guy Strings

Step 3
Mount the Awning Bracket to the Back Plate

Take out the 2 x Stainless Steel "L" Shaped Awning Brackets and the 4 x M8 30mm Bolts (with Nuts). Slide the 4 Bolts into the channels on the Awning Back Plate.

Position the Bolts so that there are 2 Bolts in each channel and they are aligned horizontally. Position the Awning Bracket over the two Bolts and partially secure it in place with the two M8 Nylon Nuts (do not fully tighten the nuts as you will need to move the bracket).

Repeat this process for the other Awning Bracket.

NOTE: Make sure to add grease to the threads to aid in tightening and loosening.

The side awning is in place and ready to be bolted to the roof bars of a UK Touring car.
Step 4
Place the awning on the vehicle
Make sure the roof bars or roof rack are already attached to the vehicle and ready to attach the side awning. Find a friend and carefully lift the side awning into place.

Place the awning on the roof bars or roof rack as you would like it to be mounted on the vehicle. Slide the awning brackets to align with the mounting points on the roof bars or roof rack (loosen the M8 nylon nuts if necessary).

Once both brackets are in the desired position, tighten the M8 nylon nuts using the spanner provided, but make sure not to over tighten.

Step 5
Mounting points on the roof bars or rack
If your vehicle has a channel on the top of the roof bars then you can simply slide in the 4 'T' bolts provided to secure the awning brackets.

However, if you have a roof rack or channel-less bars, you will need to mark the required mounting holes and drill holes in the roof bars or frame system.

Step 6
Bolt the awning brackets to the roof bars
Once you have determined the position, grab a friend and carefully lift the side awning into place. Make sure not to injure yourself, your friend, the car or your new awning.

Now in place, securely bolt the awning brackets to the roof bars or frame system using the M8 nylon nuts provided.

Note: Make sure to add grease to the threads to aid tightening and loosening.

Step 7
Attach the draw cords
Now that the side awning is secured, pull the cover open, loosen the inner straps and unfold the awning. Lower the front legs to support the front bar of the awning and adjust to the desired height. Then pick up the side bars and insert the dowel pins into the holes on the front bars. Pull the awning material tight and lock the side bars in place.

Once the awning is upright you can attach the 2 guy ropes and tensioner. Thread the guy ropes through the top of the awning legs and secure the guy ropes in place (see here for tips on securing the knot securely).

NOTE: Make sure the guy rope tensioner is oriented correctly so it works when secured to the ground.

Attach the guy ropes to the front of the side awning.

Step 8
Enjoy!
The side awning is now installed. Now that the awning is secured to the car, you can start your adventure!

After first use, check that the nuts and bolts are tight. A general good maintenance tip is to check the nuts and bolts regularly when the awning is mounted on the car.

PLEASE NOTE: Always use the guide ropes provided to prevent damage from gusty winds. We recommend not using the awning in adverse weather conditions to avoid damage to the product.
